Sweat pouring under the tattered
chain armor as Arthur Dent hacked his way through the last of the dead
underbrush, the warrior Tzz and the warlock Ford
Prefect close behind him. Out of food and water for two days he didn’t know how
much longer he could go on. The overwhelming concern in his mind, and his
heart, was for the pitiful band of Holy women and
sorcerers he left in the protection of the warrior Kecoughtan
and his sister the sorceress Zoren. Among those left
behind were the Gentle Lady Baiko, the vampire
Mistress Dracon, the powerful witch ShadowMoor, Dark Child, the elusive Critter, Redfoot, and Shadowkeeper.
Arthur Dent thought his soul would
cleave in two as he remembered the once bustling world that was the
In Sacred Haven, time folded in on
itself and the great sand clocks stood still. And Arthur watched as his world
slowly died. He watched helplessly as the people wondered hopelessly into the
void. The God Psycho-Child who maintained order vanished. He looked on as the
wizards grew silent and many of the Vampires lay naked burning in the sun. The
Necromancers Guild was slaughtered and did not renew. Even the powerful Sr Guide Gamgee could only stand
impotent as the pall of death settled over the land.
Several of the richest Lords and
Ladies tried to purchase the protection of the world from the Gods to no avail.
The people were desperate to save the world. Zoren
grew ever more distant and silent as she contemplated the end. The mighty
warrior Kecoughtan raged at the heavens as the Gentle
Lady Baiko cried tears of blood. But the Gods threw
the world to the void.
And so....Arthur and his clan were
alone in the void. Then came word, at first only a rumor, of a distant world
where the land was the same yet somehow different. Hundreds of people tried to
find this land of rumor, but none could find their way there. Arthur Dent sent
his fastest runners to the ends of the Void. Many did not survive,
all but one came back with no hope.
But one, the warrior Kecoughtan, had come upon a traveling bard named Jalin. Bard Jalin sent word of a
world where the refugees might be welcome. But the journey was long and
perilous. Seeing no alternative, Arthur Dent gathered his band of warriors and
mages and set off for the new land.
That is how we came to journey to
this world. We have been welcomed in our new world with open arms. We can not
say enough how grateful we are.
