RANKS IN THE VIKINGS:

**** BENEFITS OF RANK ****

INITIATE: Can vote in guild meetings.

MEMBER: As above. Can open the guild hall when others are present.

BERZERKER (LADY): As above. Can invite new members.

CRUSADER (HEROINE): As above. Can promote or demote members. Acts as guild leader when the Guildmistress is not present. Can make agreements with other Guilds.

VIKING (GUILDMISTRESS): As above. Can exile members. Can change the guild chest password. Can create new rules or guild policies.

**** RESPONSIBILITIES BY RANK ****

All Vikings are expected to live up to our guild goals of LOYALTY, HONOR, and DIVERSITY. All members must show unwavering loyalty to the Vikings, behave in honorable fashion at all times, and be tolerant of the diversity of others. As we ourselves believe in freedom to do as we please, we must allow others to do the same so long as they do not infringe on our freedom. Any Viking who PKs without reason, or who behaves in any other dishonorable way will be expelled from our guild.

In addition, all Vikings are expected to act as protectors and mentors to those of lower rank. This is especially true of the Berzerkers, Crusaders and Guildmistress.

INITIATE: Pay rent. Meet the other Vikings. Get stronger. Have fun.

MEMBER: As above. Take extra care in and around the guild hall. Advise others of people you meet who may make good Vikings. Have fun.

BERZERKER (LADY): As above. Invite trustworthy people to the guild. Be careful with the guild hall. Offer your time to help the guild on a regular basis.

CRUSADER (HEROINE): As above. Look out for the guild's security. Know all the Vikings. Have fun.

VIKING (GUILDMISTRESS) As above. Oversee all guild matters. Have fun if you can find the time.

*Note: DEEDS shall be defined as when one member goes out of his way to give something good to a fellow Viking of ally or help a fellow Viking or ally over and above what the guild expect of its members. Good things to give would include things like God gifts, Plate, Helmet, and other high-end items. This could also include helping others get a node like the Yeti node or Seafarer's that they could not get without your help. A well-equipped guild is a strong guild.

**** THE ARENA CHALLENGE RULE ****

If you believe you are ready to raise from Initiate to Member, or from Member to Berzerker, and you do not yet meet the minimum requirements listed above, you may demonstrate your worth by arena combat.

If you can defeat another Viking in a one-on-one no-rules fight in the arena, you will qualify for promotion to the rank of the one you challenged whether or not you have met the HP or Spells requirements for rank. The challenge must be overseen by the Guildmistress or one of the two Crusaders to be valid. To issue a challenge, one must inform either the Guildmistress or a Crusader of your intent. The Guildmistress or Crusader will announce the time of the challenge.

If the challenger wins, they will be instantly promoted to the next rank, either Member or Berzerker. If the challenger does not win, they are not promoted, and may not issue another challenge for one week of real time. In either case, the one who was challenged will keep their current rank, whether or not they win.
